May 2024 Update
May 2024 Update
Our Work Shed & Woodstore at our wood is now complete.
Giving Us a base to maintain the Woodland and do our Coppicing work at the wood.
Construction of our Private Bird Watching Hide is also now complete at the wood.
This gives Us somewhere to monitor how the pied flycatchers are doing without disturbing them at there nest boxed. As well as the many cameras installed around site to monitor the wildlife the hide will allow Us to monitor wildlife live while at the wood. Currently we have at least 2 confirmed nesting pairs of Pied flycatchers using our nest boxed this season. So another successful year of breeding for the Flycatchers at our wood.
Work to commence on repairing our Entrance steps will happen over the next few weeks as they have collapsed.
Also an area will be installed for our Private Archery range & work improvements to our Private Air Rifle range/Orchard will be happening over the next few months.
My Ham radio Antenna is now fully operational and allows me to do portable Ham Operations from the woodland . So far I have made 2 QSO contact ON6MG from the Woodland one to Belgium as my farthest contact so far too date!
We also had QSO with the Lincolnshire Bomber Command 80 years Memorial Great Escape Contest GB5ESC.
Unfortunately we found that two of our Reptile Refugees have been damage. Luckily not too much damage has been done to the Refugee so we have relocated and have had to install surveillance equipment on site. If we find who has entered our site Damage equipment any evidence will be passed on to the Police!
No unauthorised Hunting, Fly tipping or Trespassing is allowed on our Site!
Those found committing these offences will be Prosecuted!
Armed Trespass is also a Serious Criminal Offence which carries a prison sentence!
Rob is the Only other Person given written Permition to shoot out Our Woodland property other than Ourselves. He is also Fully FAC Licenced & Insured with BASC.
Hoping to Do some Bat Box Monitoring in June 2024 & over the Summer to see if Bats are using our Newly Installed Roosts.
